About PNG to WebP

PNG to WebP is a free online PNG to WebP converter. No file uploads, no servers, no sign-up required — everything happens directly in your browser using the Canvas API.

How It Works

When you select or drop a PNG image, it is loaded into an HTML5 Canvas element. The canvas then exports the image in WebP format, which is instantly available for download. Your image never leaves your device.

Privacy

We do not upload, store, or process your images on any server. All conversion is done locally in your browser. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

Limitations

• EXIF metadata (GPS, camera info) is not preserved in the output file
• ICC color profiles may not be retained
• Animated images are not supported — only the first frame is converted
• Maximum file size depends on your device's available memory
